When an energetic Detroit fashion guru calls out of the blue to ask me to shoot their Washington DC Hay-Adams hotel wedding (as a result of a recommendation from Kamala Harris' photographer), and the bride and groom are so unfazed about the day's treacherous ice storm that we venture down into the DC Metro station next to the White House to take portraits, you have the ingredients for perfect wedding photography.
